First day at Magic Kingdom Disney World Florida

Don't let her face fool you ~ it's just hard to party until 1 am and get back up again in a few hours.
Disney fun is tough on the body!
Found the photos for our first day at the Magic Kingdom of Disney World Florida...oh we had so much fun!
Waiting for the monorail at 8:45 am
Just being on the monorail was awesome!  The monorail takes you from the parking lot to the Disney attraction and you get a great view of everything!

Yeah Monorail!  Happy people, all excited and jittery about going to Disney

We literally ran to Splash Mountain and did that as our first Disney Magic Kingdom ride.
We're so excited that we don't know what to do with ourselves...silly stupid grins plastered to our faces in anticipation of the Brer Rabbit story and ride!

I survived ~ let's do it again!
Splash Mtn would become one of our favorite rides that we all could do together.  Sometimes you hardly got wet, other times you would get drenched.

Sometimes we walked around like this... real tourist like.

THUNDER MOUNTAIN
Jo waited around and did some sight seeing while the rest went on Thunder Mountain.  I had asked another homeschool Mom from Florida which rides to avoid due to my back and this was one of them.  Not too crazy, but a bit rough.
It's so hot that your map will just stick to you.  Hands free guide!
Splash Mtn and Thunder Mtn are right next to each other and guess what is opening right near there as well ?   The 7 Dwarves Mine!  They already had miners welcoming you and telling you to come back later and try out the ride.  We saw a bit of some test runs, but our timing wasn't quite right.

Space Mtn was crazy fun in fast, dark tunnels.

Aww, Eeyore's tail even comes off!
Girls have been searching all the gift shops in and outside of Disney World for their favorite characters.  Today they all found winners ~ didn't realize how many ugly Donald Ducks there were.  Guess it's hard to get his beak right.

I don't know what she saw here, but the face was too good to pass up!

The Eeyore and Lady plush animals were actually folding pillows, so they're practical right Mom?
I told them they would never miss the $30 and to go right ahead...please spend your money!

Many employees were retired and worked just 1 day a week.  They love their job and were very helpful.

Kate has been eyeing up these balloons the whole time, so I asked how much they cost.  $16.
Whatever will you do with that huge balloon while we're here and what about driving home?

They had a live show going on with Jack Sparrow and his crew.  They were teaching children to be pirates and the actor was so good that we thought it may have actually been Johnny Depp.

After every ride there is a gift shop area.
Lots of fun to act silly in and Kate found a key chain souvenir.

Thank you Guy for this great back pack!  We thought of you each day when we used it...
We often ate off to the side and near the garbage cans.  There were the cutest little birds walking around and entertaining us as we ate our lunch of rice cakes, meat, cheese, veggies and apples.

Uncle trying to get close to one of the birds

Gift shops and kiosks everywhere, but we just took the photo op's and didn't pay the $18 for a set of ears.  Once again, Uncle gets in on the photos.  He really loves Disney too.

Country Bear Jamboree ~ we're a little surprised with all the politically correctness of our society, that these sort of plays are still functioning.  Happy to see that some things just remain good old fun!

Tom Sawyer's boat ride and adventure.  This was as close as we got ~ we'll have to come back!

While talking to employees that we are from Canada, etc, they always mention that we have picked a very good time to enjoy Disney.  Crowds are not that large but the weather is great.

Kate's super excited that the plain Dole Whip is dairy free!

Dole Whip Pineapple Floats.  You could get vanilla ice cream ones or plain.  The floats were large enough to share and that's what we did the next time.  Very refreshing!

One thing is for certain ~ if Momma's happy, everyone's happy ~
so, we're all HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!
Gregg looks like he's either thinking "oh honey you're so cute" or
"oh honey, not everything has to be educational."  I'm not sure.
Swiss Family Robinson Tree house.
We took our Dole Whip pineapple deliciousness and went for a walk through the Swiss Family's Tree house.  Very nice view and lots of interesting items and rooms to look at ~ as if they had lived there.

If you can see the camel statue...he spits water every so often, so if you're hot...
you know where to stand to cool off!

They have photographers staying in certain locations to take your photo.  You get a plastic card that they swipe and your photos will be loaded up on them.  You have 30 days ? to look at the them on your computer and order anything you'd like.  What's really nice is that they will take a photo with your camera as well.  They want your money of course, but they are still very accommodating.
We discovered Snow White hidden off in a corner and went for an autograph.  Her voice was perfectly sweet like in the movie.  When posing for our group photo, we pulled out our little "head on a stick" and it did shock Snow White so that her voice cracked a little and then she said "oh, a floating head!"  When I find those pictures, I will add them. I seem to be missing a few photos.
Characters are always very nice and pleasant, but they also know how to keep the line moving.
The welcome wagon has free buttons with sayings like "1st time here", "bride", "birthday", etc etc.

Lots of water fountains around to fill up a water bottle.

On the shuttle in the afternoon to go home for an early supper and then return.  Your parking ticket is good for all day, so keep them and you don't have to pay to get back in.

Mei's dream come true ~ a red Mustang convertible.  She may have to wait a few more years!

Preparing our early supper at the townhouse
With the townhouse being so close, it's easy to drive back, cool off, eat and then head back for a long evening of fun when the crowds thin out a little.
Townhouse dumpsters had some good finds...new strollers, playpens etc.  Tourists!
