Slept in until 8 am 28 C
Gregg and Mei went to Publix to buy a new boogie board.
On the drive to Cocoa Beach we were watching for the Kennedy Space Centre and anything else that was "different". We noticed one small herd of cattle...maybe that's why the beef in the store is so expensive!
Getting swampy and more like everglades, but we know we'd have to travel a different route to really see the fun swampy areas.
Skin upon the burning sand
Everyone getting gorgeously tanned in FLOR DA
It was a windy day and we didn't feel the heat like we should have. Only Kate used some sunscreen and the rest of us forgot.
We combed the beach for interesting things. A favorite was watching some super tiny snail type things burrow back into the sand after each wave.
Shells differ here at Cocoa beach from further north |
Very manly with the pink board |
We all had lots of little tiny shells stuck in our feet afterwards. Wearing the shoes was a great idea, but sometimes you just want to feel the sand between your toes.
No one got bit by a shark.
Planes flying by, advertising deals on meals in local restaurants. |
They all caught a wave!
Eating a "Sand" wich |
One of the girls friends had emailed us a cute remake of the "Frozen" song to suit our holiday.

Ron Jon Surf Shop! |
So many tiny wheeled cars with big rims |
Headed back to Disney Magic Kingdom for an evening. We didn't have to pay parking, they waved us in, so that was a nice bonus.
This time only the ferry was going across to the resort instead of the monorail. It was more relaxing to travel across the water, but perhaps a little longer to get there?
Needing extra hydration tonight with our sunburns |
So thrilled to ride Splash Mountain so we could get drenched
Absolutely soaked on this round! |
Our skin is burning up and getting more and more sensitive...but we can't help enjoying the parade.
While we were waiting for the parade to start, I went into a gift shoppe and purchased a Mary Poppins Christmas ornament. The attendant held it for me while we watched so I wouldn't miss any of the parade. They are beyond helpful!
She also said that the Mary Poppins figurines usually sell out in a day.
We did ride the Peter Pan ride tonight and thought so much of some little nephews. It was a very fun ride as well... you get to ride in a ship that sails right out the bedroom window and above the city!
Rapunzel "Tangled" said that Kate should come and ride Maximus sometime, because he is the most magnificent horse in the kingdom. When she found out Mei likes frogs, she said she would like Pascal too, because well, he's wonderful. Mei agreed.
She didn't give them any hair tips though.
Walking into the castle area, we got to see the glass slipper, etc.
The glass slipper! |
At this point we were more than ready to go home and apply ointment to our burns. Jolene's legs were swelling so much that her shoes weren't fitting and she could hardly walk anymore. Get us back to the townhouse and where are the meds?
